Canterbury College Students’ Union has become a three-time NUS award-winning union.
Last week members of the SU attended the NUS awards ceremony at the University of Manchester Students’ Union. They went in knowing they had been shortlisted for Campaign of the year against Northumbria and Wolverhampton. Due to the fierce contention against large Higher Education Unions they had all but wrote themselves off, however when the award was announced a massive cheer showed their excitement.
The award was for their ‘Living Wage’ Campaign, this campaign clinch a committeemen by the college to pay at the Living wage rate as opposed to the National minimum wage.
